Louise provides leadership for the department in alignment with the UH Libraries strategic plan, directs purchasing and and licensing processes for print and electronic resources, works with colleagues in the Collections Strategy & Discovery portfolio and across UH Libraries to efficiently assess and provide access to those resources, supports responsible stewardship of collections funds, and collaborates with consortia and UH System partners in shared systems and subscriptions.
Louise earned an MLIS from the University of North Texas and a BS in Biology from Angelo State University (Texas Tech University System). Prior to joining the University of Houston, Louise was Head of Technical Services at the Moody Medical Library of the University of Texas Medical Branch and Acquisitions & Adult Services Manager at Rosenberg Library, the public library in Galveston, Texas.
Louise is a member of the Texas Library Association. She has presented and published on the topics of discovery, e-resource management, website usability, and collections budget management.
